You know, I seem to remember another time a publication printed something that upset Muslims, and the blogosphere was quick to blame the violence . . . on Newsweek.

It’s all well and good to condemn the violence, but accusing Muslims of hypocrisy, well . . . it brings to mind something about he who casts the first stone . . .

The difference being that what NEWSWEEK published was reported as NEWS, and was of questionable accuracy and veracity, while the cartoons are…well, cartoons — opinion.

Furthermore, you may be practicing selective memory, or maybe just don’t read that much of what the Right says, but the extremism of the Muslim reaction was VERY MUCH fodder for discussion back then.

And the fact that Muslims are committing violence to protest being depicted as violent it’s hypocritical, it’s IRONIC.

To be ypocritical, they’d have to protest violently against the printed mockery of their religion while at the same time publishing cartoons mocking Judaism or Christianity. Not THAT would be hypocritical… Oh, yeah….
