I think we can all agree that anyone who dresses up in World War Two clothing and runs around with guns is a big nerd. The next thing you know, people will be doing pirate reenactments.
Just sayin’.

I knew a guy who was a viking re-enactor. Once they sailed their replica long ship onto Delaware beach. Sadly, they didn’t pillage the beach community, just set out blankets and had a picnic.
Sure do agree with you on this issue! It reminds me of the little guy on the old Laugh In show that used to slowly pop up from behind a plant wearing an old waffen helmet and tunic and roll those baby blues behind dime store glasses and make some sort of silly comment.
Ever hear of the Society of Creative Anachronism? It was started at Virginia Tech by the History Department as a way of “living” history. It was mostly medieval history so they created a “barony” complete with feudal rulers et al. This really got to be a big thing with more than just history majors jumping in. Do not know if it is still around. Too bad if it isn’t as they had some great parties complete with medieval tents and games. People spent some real dimes on costumes and equipment. Since I haven’t heard word one about it in some time, maybe people just grew up and faded away.
